FAQs

How do I use the PapmAm system?

The PapmAm system is designed for quick, hygienic nail filing. Simply slide the disposable file onto your reusable base (metal, plastic, or wooden) — no glue required. The file grips the base securely during use. After the service, slide it off and dispose of it. Apply a fresh file for each new client. For wooden-base files (DWC/DWCE), the file comes pre-attached to a lightweight birch wood base and is ready to use straight from the pack.

How do I choose the right grit for PapmAm files?

Choose your grit based on the task: 100 grit (coarse) is for shaping and shortening artificial nails. 150 grit (medium) is for general shaping of thick natural nails and finishing artificial nails. 180 grit (universal) is the most versatile — ideal for shaping and finishing both natural and artificial nails. 240 grit (fine) is for smoothing, prep before coating, and gentle work on natural nails. For dual-grit Mix files (100/180), use the coarse side for shaping and the fine side for finishing in one tool.

How should disposable PapmAm files be disposed of?

PapmAm files are strictly single-use — one file per client for optimal hygiene. After use, place the file in a covered waste bin and dispose of it with general salon waste according to your local council regulations. Never reuse a disposable file between clients, even if it appears clean. Store unused files in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the abrasive coating.

What is the difference between foam-base and wooden-base PapmAm files?

Foam-base PapmAm files (DFC/DFCE series) have a soft cushioning layer that reduces pressure on the nail plate, making them gentler during filing. They slide onto a reusable base. Wooden-base files (DWC/DWCE series) are mounted directly on a lightweight birch wood base — no separate base required. They are thinner and offer more precise, direct contact with the nail. Size 20 DWC files include a foam layer; size 22 DWC files do not. Both types are single-use and glueless.
