FAQs

How do I clean and disinfect foot files between clients?

Clean after each use with a stiff brush under running water to remove all skin debris from the abrasive surface. Disinfect with a salon-grade liquid disinfectant appropriate for the file material. Plastic and wooden files cannot be autoclaved — use cold disinfection only. Metal file bases (such as the MBE-10) can be autoclaved or sterilised in a dry heat oven. Allow all files to air dry completely before storing or reusing. Replace wooden files when the abrasive surface becomes worn.

What are the differences between wooden, plastic, and metal foot files?

Wooden foot files (Beauty & Care ABC series) are lightweight and comfortable to hold, with natural alder wood that has been treated for moisture resistance. They are best suited for personal use or light professional work. Plastic foot files (Classic AC and Expert AE series) are more durable, with an ergonomic curved shape that follows the foot's contours. The Expert AE series features a non-bending design and larger working surface for professional use. Metal bases (MBE-10 in the pedicure set) are reusable and sterilisable, designed for the disposable file system where you replace the abrasive pad between clients for maximum hygiene.

How do I choose the right grit for nail files?

Grit indicates coarseness: 80 grit is extra coarse for artificial nails and heavy shaping, 100 grit is coarse for artificial nail work, 150 grit is medium for general shaping, 180 grit is universal for both natural and artificial nails, 240 grit is fine for smoothing and pre-coating prep, and 400/3000 grit is for polishing. For natural nails, always use 180 grit or higher to avoid damage. For artificial nails or acrylics, 80-150 grit files work best.
